The rock formations, especially in the right light, are perfect for photography, and you’ll pass fossil fields—just be sure not to take them all. From Foum Zguid, it’s a one-hour drive to Tissint Oasis at the foot of Djebel Bani, where you can cool off in the saltwater cascades. You’ll also visit the old village where explorer Charles de Foucauld stayed while mapping Morocco. Your guide will take you to his house, a short walk from the spring, and lead you through the shaded alleys of the medina. The walk is a peaceful way to end the day, with the option to return along the water point.

This village, rich in heritage, features covered pathways, narrow lanes, a mosque, and Dar Imrabtine—a beautifully preserved traditional house typical of southern Morocco. As you wander through, the enchanting mountain views will captivate you. We’ll then continue our journey to Tafraout, the main city of the Anti-Atlas.

Incredible Curated Experience

My husband and I had an incredible experience working with Adrar EcoTours. I had read about the trek that they provided and reached out to ask if they could curate a tour for the amount of days we had allotted. They listened to everything we were looking for, especially a request to have long days of hiking. The company they chose to lead the trek was amazing, so personable, so kind, so engaging - the trek was gorgeous, the food was wonderful. It really couldn't have been a better experience. Everything was taken care of and for a reasonable price. We couldn't recommend this experience more.

Unforgettable experience with Adrar!

My wife Lakshmi and I traveled to Morocco with Adrar Ecotours in December 2025 with another couple from the US and it was a fantastic trip. Over the course of our 8 days in Marrakech, Chefchaouen, and Tangier, it felt like we traveled to 3 separate countries - each was distinctly beautiful and unique. As an LGBTQ+ couple with a lot of travel experience, we were uncertain about what to expect in Morocco and working with Brahim and his team laid all of our concerns to rest. Brahim took care of all the planning for our group of 4 ahead of our trip and made fantastic recommendations for the riads that we stayed in. It's extremely overwhelming to find reliable riads since there are simply so many to choose from and it's hard to differentiate between them. After discussing what we were looking for, Brahim curated a thoughtful list of recommendations for us and handled all of the details and logistics on our behalf. I can't overstate how important the local recommendations and curated list was. The riads we stayed in were some of the most stunning boutique hotels I've ever stayed in, and I don't think we would have found that type of quality on our own. In Tangier, we had an oceanside riad overlooking the old walls of the medina, with some of the best breakfast and service I've experienced anywhere. Truly unforgettable. In country, Ayoub made the experience seamless so that we could enjoy the vacation and not worry about the logistics. It was a first-class experience with private cars getting from city-to-city, and then we took the high-speed rail from Tangier to Casablanca (if you get a chance, definitely do this - it was awesome and so convenient). Navigating this on our own would have been nearly impossible since it's such a large country and we don't speak the language. You won't regret working with Adrar - they're top notch professionals who know how to deliver a fantastic experience.

Knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide

We traveled from the States to Agadir and Brahim made our experience seamless. It was important to us to get a 'real' experience of Morocco and we definitely got that with him in the Anti-Atlas. Brahim was highly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the area, and I really appreciated his ability to be flexible and read our energy levels each day. While he definitely made it feel like a special 'once in a lifetime' trip, it's on my bucket list now to visit other parts of Morocco and I'll definitely be calling Brahim when I do!

Wonderful tour of Tafrout and Southern Morocco!

I had a wonderful time touring Morocco's southern region! The beaches of the Atantic coast were stunning, but the real highlight for me were the gorgeous Anti-a Atlas mountains. I enjoyed hiking through this picturesque landscape and exploring the beautiful nature of the region. The area is home to Amazigh (indigenous) people with a rich history and culture. The architecture of old forts is captivating, as is the intricate embroidery of the traditional dress in Tafrout. Traditional Ahawach dance and music is enchanting and the local foods such as mosimon, a fried bread sometimes sweet and topped with honey, or savory and filled with onions and peppers is certainly worth trying! I would highly recommend a trip to southern Morocco!
